Coral Casino Review

Coral is one of the most recognisable names in the gambling industry, with the first of its horse racing betting shops opening way back in 1926. The bookmaker has moved with the gambling industry ever since, launching its online casino in 2011 and opening itself up to a new era of punter. A reputation spanning nearly 100 years might be enough of a reason to sign up, but if you’re looking for the highlights, click on the ‘Summary’ section for a short list of pros and cons.

Bonuses & Promo

Bonuses & Promotions

Coral’s casino welcome offer reads more like a sports betting bonus, offering £30 in bonus funds to anyone who first deposits and plays £10 of their own. Your initial £10 wager must be placed on any of the qualifying slots, casino, or live casino titles, which Coral outlines in the terms of the offer. The bonus will be credited to your account immediately, at which point you’ll have 30 days to use it.

You’ll also have 30 days to complete the wagering requirements, which are set at 40x. This means that players will need to wager a total of £1,200 (£30 x 40) before they can withdraw any bonus funds. The requirements here are a little higher than at most sites, which average out at around the 30x mark, but since the total bonus amount is set at £30, these requirements will be more achievable than those set at other casinos offering larger bonus packages.

One of the most appealing aspects of Coral’s online casino is in its efforts to reward returning players with a range of different promotions. These begin with a variety of free-to-play games, with the Rewards Grabber the standout promotion in this category: every day, players can spin the Grabber, which selects a random prize such as free spins, cash bonuses, bingo tickets.

Look out for the Golden Rewards Grabber, which boosts the prizes on selected days. It’s not just a gimmick either – the Grabber is guaranteed to win players prizes every single day, it’s merely the size of the prize that changes.

Coral Coins are also one of the prizes selected by the Grabber. This on-site currency can be redeemed for additional casino-based prizes. Players can also enter slots, blackjack, roulette, poker and bingo tournaments for free, and can receive 55% cashback on any losses throughout the week. As a new customer, that cashback amount will climb as high as 70% during your first week at the site.

WAGERING REQUIREMENTS

As you can see, the £50 welcome bonus is quite impressive, but there are wagering requirements that you need to be aware of. Once you get this bonus, any winnings that you obtain are subject to the 40x wagering conditions outlined in the terms and conditions. This is slightly higher than other welcome bonuses that you can get in the UK. There are also a lot of payment methods excluded from this bonus, so we would advise that you use a debit card to make sure that you get the stated offer.

Design & Usability

I’ve reviewed a lot of online casinos, which means I can tell a well-designed site from a badly designed one almost immediately; as soon as I landed on the Coral homepage, I could tell this casino belongs in the first category.

The headline bonuses fill the banner on the homepage, so new players will be alerted to all of the best perks of this casino from the word go. Players will then notice all the different types of games available on-site at the top of the page, which are broken down into New, Live Casino, Slots, Tables, Megaways, Jackpots, Exclusives and Slingo & Scratch categories. Scroll down the page and you’ll get a little flavour of the kind of games in each category.

It’s clear that Coral is proud of its long history in the gambling industry, evident in the helpful sections of text laid out at the bottom of the homepage. New visitors to the site can quickly learn about the type of games on offer, some of the casino’s outstanding perks, and how they can make the most of their Coral casino accounts. It’s a simple thing, but trust me – this kind of information isn’t so readily available at other sites, perhaps because there’s less to be proud of.

Software

With over 3,000 games in its arsenal, expect Coral to have established partnerships with all of the iGaming industry’s most creative studios. Its slots section covers an extensive range of Megaways titles and Jackpot games, so Big Time Gaming and Pragmatic Play feature heavily.

But really it’s folly to point out just one or two software developers. I used the search bar to find all of the most popular releases of the last decade, and every single one I could think of was accounted for in Coral’s library. So expect games from Microgaming, NetEnt, Play’n GO, Evolution, Playtech, Red Tiger, Blueprint, Yggdrasil, Nolimit City, and literally dozens more.

Games

I’m really impressed by Coral’s games library for a number of reasons. The first of these is size, with well over 3,000 titles to choose from; the second is variety, with diversity in the slots, live casino and table games categories; and finally, players have access to a range of exclusive games that aren’t available anywhere else online.

I also love the way Coral organises its games, with individual sections for Megaways slots, Jackpots, Slingo & Scratch games, as well as for Slots, Tables and Live Casino, as you’d expect. There’s also a dedicated section for the latest additions, so you can easily find the freshest slots coming to market. And for those on tight budgets, scroll down to the list of games available to play from just 10p.

Coral highlights Big Banker, Big Bass Splash, Age of the Gods, Fishin’ Frenzy and Eye of Horus as some of its most popular slots. It also points table game players towards Premium Blackjack, Quantum Roulette, and Coral’s exclusive roulette title for the best experiences on the felt.
If it’s the exclusive titles you’re most interested in playing, check out Joker Fortunes, Bigger Banker, Cry Wolf, Farmyard Bonanza, Hotspot Roulette and Coral Acca Roulette – these are regarded by Coral itself as the best of its exclusive releases.

Coral isn’t the only casino with its own exclusive titles, but I’d argue this site goes a little further than others. Most exclusive games are reserved for the reels, but Coral’s Well Well Well can be played in a live casino environment, similar to other wheel-based live gameshows like Evolution’s Dream Catcher.

Slots

Out of all of the available casino categories, Coral’s slots section is by far the most extensive. Members have several hundred games to choose from here, with modern-day 5-reel games, interesting Megaways and even the classic 3-reel ‘pub’ games to choose from. The providers behind these games are just fantastic too, with providers like NetEnt, Playtech and IGT being major contributors to the overall selection.

Some of the best slots you can play here include the likes of Rainbow Riches, Epic Ape, Cleopatra and Diamond Mine. With that said, Coral is a top site for jackpots too. Take the game Jackpot Giant as a prime example – the payout for this game is almost £4,000,000 at the time of writing, which is just huge.

Table Games

Fans of table games will certainly not be disappointed with Coral Casino’s table games collection, since there’s a good number of games and plenty of variety among the collection. You’ll find close to 50 games altogether, including around 20 roulette variants, over a dozen blackjack titles and a handful of other classic casino games, from sic bo and craps, to red dog, three card brag and Caribbean stud poker.

Live Casino

Coral’s live casino is primarily operated through a company called Eurolive, which is why the games you can find here are quite different from other sites. With that said, there is a selection of more than 30 games to choose from here, with many games for live blackjack, live roulette and baccarat currently available. The quality of the streams for these games are okay, but we would say that they aren’t quite as good as other providers such as NetEnt or Evolution Gaming.

The range of games is still impressive, however, and we would recommend jumping in with titles like Quantum Roulette, God of Storms Live Slots, Speed Blackjack and Spread Bet Roulette to get started.

Cashier

Players have a choice of five different depositing options at Coral: Visa, Mastercard and Maestro debit cards, PayPal, Paysafecard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Although this covers bank cards, e-wallets and a prepaid card service, it’s not as long a list as you might expect from a leading online casino. Other sites definitely outperform Coral in this section of my review, but these options will still be sufficient for the majority of players.

One thing I love about this casino is the £5 minimum deposit amount, which applies to all options except PayPal, which has a £10 minimum. All deposits will land in your Coral account immediately.

Unusually, PayPal isn’t available as a withdrawal method, alongside Paysafecard and Google Pay, which means only the debit cards and Apple Pay are eligible for withdrawals. Withdrawals to these methods will be completed within 1-3 days.

Coral does however speed things up by subscribing to Visa’s Fast Funds service, which means those depositing with a Visa debit card can receive their withdrawal requests within four hours.

Support Options

Mobile Experience

If anything, visiting Coral’s mobile-optimised site is a slicker experience than playing on desktop. Remarkably, every single one of the casino’s 3,000+ library has been migrated over to the mobile site, so players won’t miss out on any of Coral’s games. The organisation of these games is equally well-designed, with gaming thumbnails accompanying each category at the top of the homepage. It’s simple but effective design, done to the highest standard.

App Review

It’s the same story over in Coral’s dedicated mobile app, which in my experience always offers the most complete online casino experience for players. Alongside the sportsbook and poker platforms, this app is one of three available under the Coral umbrella, available on both iOS and Android mobile devices. Head to the Google Play Store if you’re on Android, and the App Store if you’re on iOS.

Summary

If you hadn’t guessed by now, I think Coral is one of the best online casinos in the UK. Players will be attracted by the site’s huge volume of games: there are over 3,000 in total covering all of the best gaming categories, including a wide variety of slots, table games, live casino, slingo, scratch cards, and exclusive titles not available anywhere else online.

The list of ongoing promotions targets each of these gaming categories, meaning players can pick up prizes on the blackjack table, in the live casino, or while spinning the reels. Collect Coral Coins in exchange for further prizes, and make sure you utilise the free-to-play Rewards Grabber, which guarantees a prize every single day.

Top all this off with £5 minimum deposits, 24/7 live chat support, and a mobile app that carries all of these features over, and it’s easy to see why Coral is such a famous name in the UK gambling landscape.

The casino is not without its flaws though. I’d like to see a slightly larger welcome bonus with slightly more favourable terms, although the current offer is more suitable to players on smaller budgets. I also think the list of payment methods can be extended, particularly given that PayPal withdrawals weren’t available at the time of my review.

These issues are minor though, and I only highlight them in the interest of balance. If you think Coral is the right casino site for you, click through using our links, sign up, and collect your £30 bonus.

Pros

  • Huge games library — With over 3,000 titles to choose from, there’s no shortage of entertainment at Coral.
  • Exclusive games — Enjoy access to games that can’t be played anywhere else.
  • Range of games — Slots, live casino, table games, slingo, poker, scratch cards and more are all available, with targeted promotions for each gaming category.
  • Ongoing promotions — Take your pick from a long list of ongoing promotions for returning players, including free-to-play guaranteed daily prize draws.
  • £5 minimum deposits — I love depositing thresholds that dip beneath the standard £10 found at most casinos.
  • 24/7 live chat support — The best way to show customers you care is to make agents available 24 hours a day, which is exactly what happens at Coral.
  • Mobile app — Android and iOS mobile players can spin the reels or take a seat at the table via the Coral mobile app.

Cons

  • Wagering requirements — Welcome bonus must be wagered 40x before a withdrawal can be made.
  • Small welcome offer — The bet £10, get £30 in bonuses will suit some players, but this welcome offer is small compared to other leading casino sites.
  • Limited number of payment methods — Debit cards, PayPal, Paysafecard, Apple Pay and Google Pay are the only depositing options.
