Design & Usability

Design is a major aspect of successful online casinos. Not only does it attract new players, but it dictates how easy it is to become familiar with a new platform. 10bet is a strange case. I love some aspects of the site’s design, but found myself slightly frustrated by others.

On the homepage, which sits on a rather uninspiring white background, we can see a scrolling advertisement for 10bet’s latest promotions, a handful of menus linking to different areas of the site, and a quick look at the games on offer. A filter sits in the centre of the website’s homepage, which I used to sift through jackpot games, Megaways, live casino action, and more. It’s handy – but the end of the word ‘Jackpots’ is cut off by the search bar on the right-hand side of my screen, and ‘All Slots’ is entirely covered by the search box. I wouldn’t have known the latter was an option if not for a loading screen. It’s a minor blemish on an otherwise solid product.

Within these categories are hundreds of new, old, popular, and trending titles. I’d love to see 10bet scale down on the imagery used for each game’s thumbnail here — the current look restricts the screen to just four games per category.

Nevertheless, I remain a fan of 10bet’s design choices. Accessing the account area is simple, as is traversing my banking options. Plus, the header menu in the top-left-hand corner of my screen allowed for rapid access to the sportsbook, which is extremely helpful if you like to mix things up.

Software

Pragmatic Play, Big Time Gaming, Playtech, and Quickspin are some of the hottest studios associated with 10bet. Each software provider has at least one game published on the platform – with Playtech and Pragmatic Play providing many of the most-played slots titles.

That said, I’m disappointed by the lack of titles from Yggdrasil, Relax Gaming, and Elk Studios. Moreover, it seems that games from Microgaming and Play ‘n’ Go have recently had their games pulled from the platform. An example of this is Mega Moolah by the former – it was available a few months ago, but a quick search for the title now brings no results.

Pragmatic Play and Playtech more or less carry 10bet when it comes to software, and adding more providers to its current partnerships would do the site a world of good.

I appreciate 10bet’s transparency around how many games sit in each category. Unlike a lot of competitors, it gives precise numbers by genre — at the time of writing I can see 95 live casino games, 97 Megaways titles, 61 jackpots and 1,221 slots.

Interestingly, 10bet lists its table games within the live casino area. They sit in a separate section, so you’ll need to select ‘Live Casino’ from the header menu to reach the collection of live and table titles. I’m impressed with the live casino as a whole, serving up live roulette, blackjack, game shows, baccarat and sic bo — though poker is a notable absentee.

There’s no doubt 10bet wants to steer players toward the slots. That’s hardly unusual — slots are the main attraction at most UK casinos — but I’m surprised by the lack of ‘big-name’ titles. I couldn’t find Starburst, Book of Dead, Gonzo’s Quest or Rainbow Riches: four of the most popular slots ever made. Mobile Experience

It was immediately clear to me that the 10bet team has spent a great deal of time on its mobile-optimised site. The result is a polished, clean, and responsive service – one with all the same features as the desktop alternative, as well as some additional quirks.

For one, the search bar has moved to the left-hand side of the screen. It no longer covers the ‘All Slots’ category as it does on PC, and is now a neat button rather than an unnecessarily long box. I used the new side menu, which replaces the header menu on desktop— to switch from sports betting and live casino games to support options and promotions. It’s all very intuitive and easy to get along with. Otherwise, the platform is virtually the same as its desktop counterpart.

A couple of features would go a long way to making the app even better. First, I’d like to see dark mode as an option. Second, the app should follow the desktop version’s lead by showing multiple game categories on the homepage. The app displays every game available on the site upon launching – leaving players with thousands of items to scroll through. Realistically, nobody is going to be scrolling to the bottom.

Summary

With online casino games galore, decent promotions and an intuitive mobile app, I’d happily recommend 10bet to any online bettor.

The one criticism I’d level is that it could add a few more popular slots to the roster, since experienced players will be hunting for their favourites.
