Lottoland Casino Review

Lottoland is a little different to most casino sites. As the name suggests, this platform offers more than traditional online casino action, offering players the chance to enrol in lottery draws taking place all over the world. Lottoland also offers dedicated scratch card, bingo and sportsbook verticals, making it one of the most comprehensive gambling sites I’ve come across.

There’s lots to discuss in this player-focused review, but if you’d like a quick snapshot of the highlights, take a look at the list of pros and cons below. For everyone else, I’ll be running through the games section, promotions page, and all the most important details of the Lottoland site in greater depth.

Bonuses & Promo

Bonuses & Promotions

Casino players at Lottoland can determine the size of their welcome offer depending on how much they deposit first up. For the lowest threshold of 100 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza, new customers will need to deposit and then stake a minimum of £20, at which point the spins will be immediately credited to your account. You have 30 days to make use of the spins, which come with absolutely no wagering requirements, so whatever you win is yours to keep.

If new players want to push the boat out a little, they can deposit and stake £30 in exchange for 150 free spins, or £50 for the maximum amount of 200 spins. Money must be wagered on Big Bass Bonanza in order to qualify, and all free spins are allocated to this slot only.

Some players might expect a bundle of bonus money for an offer of this proportion, but the fact there are no wagering requirements boosts its value immeasurably. I love to see no wagering bonuses when I’m reviewing sites, particularly on a welcome offer, and actively seek them out as a casino player myself.

Elsewhere, the promotions page is full of offers. Most of these target the site’s lottery syndicates, which target draws taking place across the globe in Europe, Australia and the US. The Irish Lotto and US Powerball were two lottery events with promotional opportunities attached during my review.

Buying a lottery ticket on the Lottoland site is exactly the same as anywhere else: pick your draw, select your numbers, and hope your luck’s in. Winning tickets will collect the same amount as they would through the official lottery site – the only difference is that if you win, it’s Lottoland that’s in charge of the payment. For more information on how this all works visit this page.

There’s also a weekly bet club for sports betting fans, bargain bingo tickets, and welcome offers that target different areas of the site if you’d prefer.

Design & Usability

I really like Lottoland’s light and spacious approach to its site design. There’s a plain white background tinged with green in places to highlight different areas of the site. At the top of the homepage, this green banner contains Irish Lotto, More Lotto, Casino, Live Casino, Promotions, Scratchcards, Sportsbook and Bingo sections – every vertical covered, directing players precisely where they want to go.

If you scroll down the homepage, you’ll first notice Lottoland’s different welcome offers, before you come to a highlights reel of the lotto jackpots coming up. Keep going and you’ll find pulls for the casino games library and the sportsbook offering, eventually ending up at some useful text towards the bottom.

The design is equally intuitive in the casino section, where the site’s massive games library is helpfully broken down into sub-categories like new additions, Megaways and jackpot slots. It’s not winning any awards in terms of creativity, but that’s not exactly what I look for in this part of my review; instead, I prefer to see easy aesthetics coupled with good functionality, which is exactly what you get at Lottoland.

Software

I love the fact that this site allows players to search for games by software developer. It always feels like such an obvious option – enabling players to filter games according to their preferences of style, theme and approach to bonuses – but the majority of online casinos are yet to deploy this feature.

In alphabetical order, here’s a full list of Lottoland’s software providers and the number of slots contributed by each: Blueprint (61), Eyecon (18), G Games (36), Hacksaw Gaming (5), Inspired (89), IWG (1), Microgaming (206), NetEnt (86), Nolimit City (48), Wizard Games (111), Pirates Gold Studios (1), Play’n GO (207), Pragmatic Play (323), Quickspin (73), Realistic (20), Red Tiger (216), Relax (110), Ruby Play (77), Scientific Games (72), Spinomenal (144) and Yggdrasil (237). This is clearly a great list, and one that Lottoland will only be looking to build on in the future.

In the live dealer section, the games are split between Evolution (40) and Pragmatic (12). Games from 12 different developers are also hosted in the table games section, providing plenty of variety to those looking for standard RNG table game experiences. With 11 games to its name, G Games is the best represented developer here.

Games

Given that Lottoland stretches its offering across practically every gambling vertical there is, I was expecting the games library to suffer as a result. But that’s not the case at all – there are 2,147 slots in the catalogue, which comes with outstanding filtering tools. I struggled to find any notable omissions from the slots library during my review.

Players can search for their favourite titles alphabetically, by name, by game developer, by popularity, and even by slot volatility. This last filtering tool is rarely seen at casino sites, allowing players to select the best slots according to their budget – a really helpful responsible gambling device.

There are also 52 titles in Lottoland’s live casino, as well as 43 RNG table games. Together, these games offer players their fix of traditional casino experiences, including blackjack, roulette, poker, and their many variants. Games of baccarat, sic bo and craps are also popular in this section of the casino.

Cashier

There’s a lot to like about Lottoland’s approach to payments, but it’s not all perfect here. There are only five depositing options, which is lower than the majority of other popular sites. Those options are Visa and Mastercard debit cards, bank transfer, Trustly, MuchBetter and Paysafecard.

This isn’t the weakest range I’ve come across – Lottoland does manage to cover four different payment solutions in this list – but there’s definitely room for improvement here. I’d like to see some additional options added, particularly popular e-wallets like PayPal, Skrill and AstroPay.

For withdrawals, only debit cards and bank transfers are possible, neither of which will happen particularly quickly – Lottoland states that withdrawals to either method will take between 2-5 working days.

Nevertheless, I love the casino’s leniency on both deposits and withdrawals: for the former, debit card users can deposit just £1 a pop; on the latter, there are no minimum amounts whatsoever. Minimum deposits for Trustly users is £4, for MuchBetter it’s £5, and for Paysafecad it’s £2.

Support Options

Mobile Experience

What’s extraordinary about Lottoland’s mobile-optimisation is that the casino has managed to migrate almost every game across from the desktop site. Only three slots are missing from the catalogue, while every table and live casino game is accounted for. This is the hallmark of a great mobile casino.

The mobile site is more or less identical to what players will find on desktop, except with a longer drop-down menu in the top-left of the screen. Here you’ll find some useful account information, as well as different gambling verticals, games, and lottery draws.

App Review

Players can also download the Lottoland mobile app from the App Store if you’re on iOS or Google’s Play Store if you’re on Android. The difference in quality might not be immediately evident, but you’ll receive personalised notifications alerting you to the latest bonuses, game releases and lottery draws. Loading times on games should also be quicker, since app data is stored locally on the phone and is therefore faster to process than standard access through your browser.

In the Play Store, Lottoland currently has a score of 4.2 from over 4,000 reviews. And in the App Store, this score is nudged up to 4.6 from just under 1,000 reviews. I can assure you this is high user praise from a solid sample size.

Summary

Lottoland’s syndication with major lotto draws around the world places it in a category of its own. If you’ve been looking for a platform that simultaneously allows you to scratch off your lucky numbers and play your favourite casino games, this is absolutely the site for you.

Regardless of its lotto capabilities, Lottoland is an outstanding online casino in its own right. It has a huge games library, a full list of ongoing promotions, no wagering requirements on its welcome bonus, and a mobile app ranking highly on both Play and App Stores. The site is easy on the eye and well-spaced out, and players can make any withdrawal amount requests, as well as place deposits from just a pound.

I have only two minor complaints. Although I like Lottoland’s general approach to payments, the casino would improve its cashier section significantly by adding just a few more options; in particular, I’d like to see PayPal added to the list of accepted methods, which would bring benefit to those looking for faster withdrawals.

I’d also like live chat hours extended on weekends. The service currently logs off at 4.30pm, which leaves roughly eight hours on both Saturdays and Sundays of limited support. It’s not a major problem, but account activity is typically high during these times, so it makes sense to extend support to accommodate for weekend players.
