Bally Casino Review

Bally’s is a major name in the American gambling space, with brick-and-mortar locations in ten different states. In 2023, Bally’s decided to launch itself into the UK online market, overhauling another site operating under the Gamesys wing, Megaways Casino, and offering UK players a new online casino destination: Bally Casino.

The result is a first-class casino site that aims to lavish UK players with an American sense of customer service: great rewards, friendly terms, and excellent access to customer support. In this review, I’ll be running through all the reasons to be excited about this new UK site in this detailed review, but if you’re looking for a few quick reasons to sign up, click on the ‘Summary’ section to check out the general pros and cons.

Bonuses & Promo

Bonuses & Promotions

If you make a first deposit of £10 at Bally Casino and spend it on any casino game, you’ll trigger the release of 30 free spins to use on Gamesys’ Secrets of the Phoenix Megaways. Each spin is worth 20p, which is excellent value for a welcome bonus, and players will have 30 days to use them before they expire.

But the best part about this offer is that the free spins are entirely without any wagering requirements, meaning every penny you win can be withdrawn immediately. It’s the same perk that pre-existed this site at the now discontinued Megaways Casino, and it’s great Bally’s sticking to player-friendly terms.

There are a whole host of other promotional opportunities to enjoy at this casino. This begins with the suite of six daily free games, all of which can return cash prizes and free spins without costing the player a penny. The only catch is that players must have deposited £10 into their accounts at some point – so simply take advantage of the welcome bonus and you’ll also be eligible to play free games for real prizes every day.

I’m also a fan of the refer a friend scheme, which I think is an underused promotion at casino sites. If you refer a friend to sign up and deposit and play £10, you’ll receive a £20 bonus. You can refer up to five friends, which means there are £100 up for grabs from this promo alone.

There’s also a Signature Blackjack cashback promotion, in which players will receive £10 back from their cashback losses if they opt in and wager £50 first. Use the promo code SIGNATURE if you’re interested in this one.

Depending on account activity, Bally also promises to consistently reward players with loyalty bonuses, birthday gifts and Box Bonanzas – a lucky dip-style game that gives players a choice of three boxes, at least one of which contains a prize.

Bally Casino also has a Plus scheme for their most valuable members, though for responsible gambling purposes, they can’t disclose what’s required to be eligible for those perks. Rest assured that if you qualify, the casino will be in touch.

Design & Usability

I like the way Bally has laid out its online casino. Game categories are made clear at the top of the homepage, offering Slots, Live Casino, Online Poker, Slingo, Free Games and an All Games list. It’s very easy to know where to head for each gaming vertical, which is not always the case at other sites.

I also like the way Bally splices each section of the casino with helpful chunks of text, explaining the basics of every game. Towards the bottom of the homepage, there’s some information about the history of the company and the kind of casino it’s looking to run – all in the name of that 5-star American service.

The aesthetics are pretty simple, with a bold red colour scheme in the top banner and a white background for the rest of the site. You’d do well to miss the welcome bonus on the homepage, where the most lavish use of red is applied. Some sites like Casino of Dreams and Lucky 247 are shier about their welcome offers, but that’s not the case here.

Software

With such a small games library Bally Casino inevitably falls a little short in the software department too. The good news is that Evolution is in charge of the live casino, so although there’s only a small collection of games to play, you’ll know they’re of the highest quality, with the potential for more to be added.

In the slots catalogue, you’ll find Gamesys, Big Time Gaming, Blueprint Gaming, NetEnt, Pragmatic Play and more – all major software developers present at the top sites, but admittedly only a handful of games each.

Bally’s is a huge name in the iGaming world, so I’m sure there are plans in place to expand the games library by both enhancing the software partnerships already in place, and by establishing new partnerships with other game providers. This casino has only been active for a few months, so I expect big improvements to be made in this area.

Games

One area Bally could improve is in its games library. There are only 114 games in total here, which falls well below the average. As you’d expect, there are some notable omissions here, such as Gonzo’s Quest, Book of Dead, Immortal Romance, and plenty more – frankly too many to mention.

However, the 114 games that are included are split across slots, slingo, table games, poker and live casino, so there’s still plenty of variety. Blackjack, roulette, baccarat and poker can all be played in a live format, with live dealer experts Evolution providing the titles, including game shows like Crazy Time and Dream Catcher.

There are six games at Bally that can be played for free while still being in with a chance to win real money prizes. Head to the Free Games tab, where you’ll find Daily Paper, Doubly Bubbly, Rainbow Riches, Search for the Phoenix, Slot Masters and Tiki’s Catch of the Day. The top prizes in these games are £750 in cash or 50 free spins – both without wagering requirements.

Cashier

Another potential weak spot for some players at this casino is in the cashier section. At the moment, only debit cards, PayPal and Apple Pay are available, which is probably below the average number. I’d like to see more e-wallets, a prepaid card option like Paysafecard, and some bank transfer systems like Trustly – the best online casinos in this department offer all of these and more.

Nevertheless, these options will be sufficient for the majority of players. Deposits are processed instantly but withdrawals take a little longer. Bally says all withdrawals are processed within 24 hours, and after that point it’s down to your bank. For the fastest withdrawals, it’s best to opt for PayPal – transactions via the e-wallet aren’t slowed down by long-winded banking processes, so you’ll likely receive your request within a few hours.

Support Options

'<p>‘Big on Service’ is one of Bally Casino’s three promises, and the site is keen to let you know you’re in good hands. It backs this up with 24/7 live chat support – the gold standard of online casino care. I made use of this service during my review and was met with a real customer agent who resolved my issue quickly.</p> <p>There’s no phone service, but there is an email form you can fill out on site. Mobile Experience

One of the advantages of having a small games library is that mobile players won’t miss out on any titles when playing on the go, and that’s exactly the case here. All 114 of Bally’s games are available to play on mobile, so there’s no difference in entertainment when you switch between the desktop and mobile sites.

In fact, there’s nothing at all that distinguishes the two sites: the design, game categorisation, and helpful pieces of text are all identical, so it will be easy to find your way around when you mix things up.

App Review

Bally Casino comes with its own native app, available for both Android and iOS device holders to download – simply visit the Play Store if you’re on Android and the App Store if you’re on iOS.

In my opinion, mobile apps offer a superior playing experience, with faster loading times, better access to bonuses, and heightened security features. If you’re able to, I recommend downloading the Bally app once you’re a member.

Summary

Bally is at the very beginning of its journey in the UK’s online casino scene, and I think it’s off to a very promising start. The casino is clearly looking to impress new customers with a wager-free welcome bonus, and it promises to be ‘Big on Rewards’.

Those rewards include cash in exchange for friend referrals, regular Box Bonanzas, and cash prizes and free spins bonuses when your account activity deserves them. I love the Free Games section, which gives any player that’s ever deposited £10 into their account the chance to win real prizes every day entirely for free. All of this and more is available on the dedicated Bally Casino mobile app.

But given that Bally is a new site, there are some things it could work on. Some players will prefer a larger welcome offer, especially seeing as some sites offer a bigger bundle of free spins on top of a significant amount of bonus cash – although it’s important to remember that these offers will have more stipulations in the T&Cs.

The games library can definitely improve and I’m sure it will in time. As it does so, expect stronger partnerships with software developers and a steady enhancement of the games catalogue as a whole. Bally would probably also benefit from adding a few more payment methods in the cashier, just to cater to a wider variety of casino players.

If you like the idea of playing at a casino that carries over 100 years in the gambling industry, then click through to the Bally site using our links, sign up, and pick up your 30 wager-free spins.
