Design & Usability

When I first loaded up the Regent Play homepage, I can’t say I was bowled over by how it looked. The casino’s theme is seemingly the famous Regent Street in London, but the operator hasn’t put in a whole lot of effort in this regard. Ultimately, the result is an online casino that looks much like other sites — a dark background and a colourful grid of slot thumbnails. I don’t mind too much and it’s not really noticeable once you’re within the worlds of your favourite games. Plus, this design is unlikely to turn more particular players away.

The site itself is simple to navigate and there aren’t too many options so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for more broadly. However, I’d love to see some more granular categorisation options within the library. The slots page, for example, doesn’t have any filters to narrow down your options. This means it’s a little tricky to find specific types of games like those with avalanche reels or Megaways paylines. On the plus side, there is a category for jackpots along with a search function.

Outside of this, I don’t have many complaints. Everything performed well and the games were free from lag. I didn’t encounter any glitches either. I’d love to see Regent Play add a few more visual flourishes to make the site stand out aesthetically, but it’s certainly not a dealbreaker.

With the quality of Regent Play’s library, naturally that means partnerships with the best developers in the world. All the usual suspects are present on the slots side, from heavy hitters like NetEnt, Microgaming, and Play’n GO to much smaller studios looking to stand out from the crowd. In fact, I often opt for these lesser-known names in order to unearth some hidden gems within online casino libraries.

A few of my favourite developers that sit in this camp include Hacksaw Gaming, Spinomenal, and G.Games, all of whom are present in the Regent Play catalogue. That said, there are a few names I’d like to see added to the roster — Nolimit City and ELK Gaming are a couple of names that have put out some fantastic titles in recent years, but are yet to make it into Regent’s library.

Things are flawless on the live dealer side. Evolution and Pragmatic provide the bulk of the library and are arguably the top dogs. I was also glad to see additional titles from the likes of Authentic and Skywind — it’s not often you get this much choice!

Support Options

Arguably, Regent Play could go a little bit further when it comes to customer support. Don’t get me wrong — the availability is good and the team can be reached between 7am and 11pm GMT seven days a week. However, currently the only avenue of support is via an email web form.

In fairness, I received a reply to my query fairly promptly and was waiting just a couple of hours. But I can’t help but feel Regent is slightly lagging behind other online casinos, many of which offer 24/7 live chat or even a phone line.

On the plus side, there is a fairly extensive FAQs section where players can find instant answers, but I found this a little tricky to navigate. I’d love to see Regent improve this feature of its site or add live chat functionality to better keep up with the competition.

The Regent Play mobile site looks and feels much like its desktop sibling. I was pleased to find it ran smoothly and without lag on my iPhone 12, and it felt fairly intuitive to use.

My only significant complaint is one paralleled on desktop — the lack of filtering of the games. This is particularly noticeable on a smaller screen as you end up having to scroll a fair bit to get through the myriad of titles. In terms of said titles, I was glad to find the full catalogue available for mobile devices.
