Design & Usability

Luckster’s website design is a bit of a mixed bag. Although I enjoy the green and white lucky Irish theme, there are areas of the site that could be presented with more care. The terms and conditions of the welcome offer aren’t particularly clear and the help centre could do with a lick of paint.

As for navigating the site and finding games to play, there’s a lot of room for improvement. I was pleased to be able to search for games by developer, but overall the filtering options are severely lacking. When browsing on my laptop, there wasn’t even an option to view table and live casino games besides typing them into the search bar. Thankfully there is a live casino tab on the mobile site, but it’s frustrating for this to not be consistent across all devices.

Luckster could certainly make it easier to narrow down searches for slot games as well. Some casinos, for example, offer a high-volatility slots category, or let players browse by developer, theme or mechanic. That said, Luckster does highlight themed games around certain holidays, such as its excellent collection of spooky slots for Halloween.

Software

On the whole, Luckster features most of the big-name software providers, including NetEnt, Play’n GO, Pragmatic Play, and Microgaming. Playtech and Novomatic are two of the big absentees, but there’s plenty of quality in the slots library regardless.

If you’re like me and enjoy checking out titles from smaller developers, you won’t be disappointed — Ainsworth, Lightning Box, and Bally Wulff and more all feature. In the future, we’d love to see the inclusion of Yggdrasil and Nolimit City, as they’re two of the best when it comes to innovative slot mechanics.

Evolution supplies the majority of live casino games alongside a couple of other well-renowned studios such as Pariplay, so you’re in safe hands there too.

Luckster’s collection of over 2,000 games has plenty to offer players of all tastes. One thing I really like about the slots catalogue is that the classics are covered alongside their more modern iterations. The FAQ section is pretty extensive at Luckster, covering everything from account verification to privacy. I’d like to see it revamped at some point, though, as it’s very basic in appearance and not especially user-friendly.

Luckster’s mobile site is laid out in much the same way as the desktop version. I found it easy to use, with each page loading quickly and without any lag. The vast majority of the games catalogue is available to play on mobile, but there are a few titles missing — 43 roulette and 59 blackjack games feature, compared to 59 and 71 if you’re on a laptop.

Like the desktop site, there aren’t a great deal of filtering options on mobile. That said, there is an additional live casino tab, but it’s strange to not be able to click through to see baccarat, game shows, craps, and more.
