Gamesys Explained
Gamesys is a London-based online software development company founded back in 2001. In 2006, it was named by The Sunday Times as the UK’s fastest-growing private technology company, and since then has continued to cement its place in the UK’s online gambling industry through a series of major acquisitions.
In 2013, this included the takeover of Virgin Games. Then in 2019, Gamesys was itself acquired by JPJ Group, formerly both The Intertain Group and Jackpotjoy. Finally in 2021, the major US casino operator, Bally’s Corporation, acquired the company – now known as the Gamesys Group – for a massive $2.7 billion.
Gamesys Features
At the time of writing, there are 12 gambling sites running on the Gamesys network. Although online bingo is one of its areas of expertise, it’s by no means its only offering, with other sites within the network specialising in free slots, Megaways slots, poker, and more. Gamesys itself created one of the most popular slots of recent years, Double Bubble, and has also developed a bunch of scratch card, instant win, and classic table games such as blackjack.
Gamesys has always sought to make outstanding contributions to the world of online gambling through innovation. This innovation was on full display when the company became the first in the world to offer real money games through the Facebook platform in 2012 – a trend that has since rocketed. Gamesys’s natural instinct for effective marketing has helped create a powerhouse of a bingo network; there are over four million members at Jackpotjoy alone, which is surely in part a result of Gamesys’s excellent series of ad campaigns and social media.
Although they’re bound by the same network, Gamesys’s sites still manage to retain their own sense of personality. No Gamesys site feels the same, and indeed many of them offer entirely different gaming catalogues – players will find that bonuses and promotions are often exclusive to specific sites, and that each one has its own clear aesthetic.
